Notice of Exemption From Maritime Rules 20.6, 21.3(1)(c), 21.9(1)(b), 21.13(1)(a)–(c), 24B.7, 31A.7, 31A.7(1)(a), 31A.14(b), 31B.6(1)(a), 31B.9(1)(a), 31B.11(1), (2) and (3), 31B.13 – Table 5, 31B.14 – Table 7, 31B.15(a), 31C.9, 31C.10(a) and (b), 32.9(4)(a), 35.6(7)(a)(iii), 40A.7(1)(a), 40A.7(1)(b)(ii), 40A.10(1), 40A.17(1), 40A.33(2)(e), 40A.56, 40A.56(1), 40A.57(1), 40B.20, 40C.7(1)(b)(ii), 40C.53(1) – Appendix 4.3, 40D.37(1), 40D.68(1), 42A.17(1) and (2), 45.4(1) and (2)(a), 46.17(1)(b), 46.17(2), 47.8(2), 90 and 91.5(1)

Pursuant to section 47(3) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Director of Maritime New Zealand hereby notifies the granting of the following exemptions:

  • 1 from Maritime Rule 20.6 – re operating limits
  • 1 from Maritime Rule 21.3(1)(c) – re SOLAS ships and ships of 45 metres or more in length that proceed beyond restricted limits (safe ship management systems)
  • 1 from Maritime Rule 21.9(1)(b) – re ships which do not proceed beyond restricted limits, fishing ships, and ships of less than 45 metres in length (safe ship management systems)
  • 1 from Maritime Rule 21.13(1)(a), (b) and (c) – re entry to and conditions to be met in order for ship to remain in Safe Ship Management
  • 1 from Maritime Rule 21.13(1)(a) and (b) – re entry to and conditions to be met in order for ship to remain in Safe Ship Management
  • 1 from Maritime Rule 21.13(1)(b) and (c)(ii) – re entry to and conditions to be met in order for ship to remain in Safe Ship Management
  • 2 from Maritime Rule 24B.7 – re carriage of cargoes – storage and securing
  • 1 from Maritime Rule 31A.7 – re minimum safe crewing – general requirements (crewing and watchkeeping unlimited, offshore and coastal – non-fishing vessels)
  • 1 from Maritime Rule 31A.7(1)(a) – re minimum safe crewing general requirements (crewing and watchkeeping unlimited, offshore and coastal – non-fishing vessels)
  • 1 from Maritime Rule 31A.14(b) – re crewing and watchkeeping unlimited, offshore and coastal (non-fishing vessels)
  • 2 from Maritime Rule 31B.6(1)(a) – re minimum safe crewing – general requirements (crewing and watchkeeping offshore, coastal and restricted – non-fishing vessels)
