Amendment of Notice of Direction for Appointment of a Limited Statutory Manager and Notice of Direction for Appointment of a Second Limited Statutory Manager for the Board of Trustees of Marlborough Boys’ College (288)

Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I hereby amend the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette, 2 October 2008, No. 152, page 4025, regarding the appointment of a limited statutory manager for the Marlborough Boys’ College Board of Trustees because of risks to the operation of the school and direct the Secretary for Education to appoint a second limited statutory manager for the Marlborough Boys’ College Board of Trustees.

The following functions, powers and duties of the board are to be vested in a limited statutory manager – finance:

All functions, powers and duties of the board to manage financial operations (whether statutory or otherwise).

The limited statutory manager – finance must also advise the board on the following:

Communication about finance related matters and consolidating all new and improved systems into board management practice

The following functions, powers and duties of the board are to be vested in a limited statutory manager – employment:

All functions, powers and duties of the board as an employer (whether statutory or otherwise).

The limited statutory manager – employment must also advise the board on the following:

Any other governance matters which may arise during the intervention.

This notice takes effect the day after the date of publication.
