In the matter of the Law Practitioners Act 1982

Pursuant to section 119 of the Law Practitioners Act 1982, notice is hereby given that on 23 November 2009, the New Zealand Lawyers and Conveyances Disciplinary Tribunal ordered as follows:

THAT

1. David Alan Wood be suspended from practice as a barrister and solicitor for a period of four months from 12.00 midnight on 30 November 2009 to 12.00 midnight on 31 March 2010.

2. David Alan Wood is censured for deliberately misleading an Associate Judge of the High Court and fellow practitioner.

3. David Alan Wood is to pay as a contribution towards costs and expenses the sum of $18,000.00 to the New Zealand Law Society.
