Pursuant to section 154 of the Education Act 1989, I hereby declare that Waimata Valley School, Gisborne, will close on 27 January 2010, and will cease to be established on that day.

Notice of Direction for Appointment of a Limited Statutory Manager for the Board of Trustees of Tuatapere Community College

Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I direct the Secretary for Education to appoint a limited statutory manager for the Tuatapere Community College Board of Trustees because of the risks to the operation of the school.

The following functions, powers and duties of the board are vested in a limited statutory manager:

• All functions, powers and duties of the board as an employer (whether statutory or otherwise); and
• all functions, powers and duties of the board to manage financial operations (whether statutory or otherwise).

A limited statutory manager must also advise the board on the following:

• Consolidating all new and improved systems into board management practice.

This notice takes effect the day after the date of publication.

Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I direct the Secretary for Education to appoint a limited statutory manager for the Upokongaro School Board of Trustees because of risks to the operation of the school.

The following functions, powers and duties of the board are to be vested in a limited statutory manager:

• All functions, powers and duties of the board as a personnel manager and employer (whether statutory or otherwise);
• all functions, powers and duties of the board to manage communications (whether statutory or otherwise) including communications within the school, communications between the school and the community, and communication with the media; and
• all functions, powers and duties of the board in managing board operations (whether statutory or otherwise).

A limited statutory manager may also advise the board on the following:

• Areas for improvement identified by the Education Review Office, following a school review in December 2009.

This notice takes effect the day after the date of publication.

Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975

Hastings Christian School (Attendance Dues) Notice 2009

Pursuant to section 36 of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, the Minister of Education hereby gives notice approving the charging of attendance dues at Hastings Christian School, Hastings.

Notice

1. This notice shall be cited as the Hastings Christian School, (Attendance Dues) Notice 2009.

2. The proprietor of the above-named school may enter into an agreement with the parents or other persons accepting responsibility for the education of a child at the above-named school requiring them to pay attendance dues.

3. The attendance dues payable in respect of any pupil shall be $711.11 (exclusive of GST) per annum, per pupil.

4. Attendance dues received by the proprietor shall be used for the purpose of paying for such improvements to, or for such capital works associated with, the buildings and associated facilities of the above-mentioned integrated school as may be required or approved by the Minister of Education, pursuant to section 40(2) of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, or for meeting debts, mortgages, liens, or other charges associated with any of the land and buildings that constitute the integrated school.

Integration Agreement

Pursuant to section 10 of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, notice is given that an integration agreement has been signed between the Minister of Education on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen, acting through the Group Manager, Schools and Student Support, Ministry of Education, pursuant to delegated authority, and the proprietor of the following school:

Sancta Maria Catholic Primary School, Botany South, Auckland.

The said integration agreement was executed on 3 November 2009.

A copy of the integration agreement is available for inspection without charge by any member of the public at the national office of the Ministry of Education, Pipitea Street, Wellington.
