Marine Mammals Protection Act 1978

Application to Take Marine Mammals

Pursuant to sections 4 and 5 of the Marine Mammals Protection Act 1978, the Department of Conservation notifies the following application received from Dr Robert Mattlin, of Marine Wildlife Research Limited on 23 November 2009:

Capture and satellite tag up to 10 Hector’s dolphins during March 2010 through to May 2011 in Clifford and/or Cloudy Bays, Marlborough, in order to determine where they travel to over the winter months.

A copy of the full application can be obtained from the Department of Conservation, Nelson/Marlborough Conservancy, Private Bag 5, Nelson.

Any person wishing to make a submission on this application can do so by writing to the Conservator, Department of Conservation, Nelson/Marlborough Conservancy, Private Bag 5, Nelson, by 29 January 2010.

Unless a person making a submission states to the contrary in the submission, that person will be deemed to give his/her consent to the release under the Official Information Act 1982 of all the information in the submission.

Gas Act 1992

Approval of Complaints Resolution System

Following consideration of a recommendation from the Gas Industry Company and in accordance with section 43E of the Gas Act 1992, I give notice that I have approved the complaints resolution system called The Electricity and Gas Complaints Commissioner Scheme established under the document entitled Constitution for the Electricity and Gas Complaints Commissioner Scheme dated the 30th day of October 2009.

The approved complaints resolution system has the purpose of addressing complaints relating to gas retailers and gas distributors by all or any of:

(a) small consumers (including potential small consumers); and

(b) owners and occupiers of land into, through, or against which pipelines have been laid down or placed.

The approval referred to in this notice has effect from 1 April 2010 and applies to complaints of the types covered by the approved complaints resolution system and notified to a gas retailer or gas distributor on or after that date.

A copy of the constitution and other documents that comprise The Electricity and Gas Complaints Commissioner Scheme are available from the website

Terms used in this notice have the same meanings as they do under the Gas Act 1992.

Commerce Act 1986

Six-month Extension to the Statutory Time Frames for the Determination of Input Methodologies Under Part 4 of the Commerce Act 1986

Pursuant to section 52U(2) of the Commerce Act 1986, I hereby give notice that I have approved a six-month extension to the 30 June 2010 deadline for final input methodology determinations under Part 4 of the Commerce Act 1986, and the determinations that specify how information disclosure regulation applies to each supplier of airport services under section 56E of the Commerce Act (airport information disclosure determinations).

Under this approval, the Commerce Commission will now be required to release final input methodology determinations by 31 December 2010 and final airport information disclosure determinations by 1 January 2011.
