Notice of Intention to Take Land for Library Purposes—Swanson Road, Ranui, Waitakere City

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with section 23(1)(b) of the Public Works Act 1981, that the Waitakere City Council ("Council") proposes to take part of the land situated at 431 Swanson Road, Ranui, Waitakere City, and more particularly described in the Schedule hereto ("the land").

The land is required for library purposes and it is intended to use the land for the development of a new library in Ranui.

The reasons why Waitakere City Council considers it is reasonably necessary to take this interest in the land described in the Schedule are:

(a) There is an established community need for library services in Ranui which will be best provided from a dedicated library building;

(b) there is no suitable land in Ranui presently available for sale on the open market; and
