Te Hauke School (2694) Closure Notice

Pursuant to section 154 of the Education Act 1989, I hereby declare that Te Hauke School (2694), 20 kilometres south of Hastings, will close on 9 October 2009 and will cease to be established on that day.

  • all functions, powers and duties of the board to manage curriculum and assessment practice (whether statutory or otherwise);
  • ensuring areas for improvement identified in the current and any future Education Review Office reports are implemented; and
  • all functions, powers and duties of the board to manage communications (whether statutory or otherwise) relating to the areas of employment, curriculum and assessment practice, and those areas identified for improvement in the current and any future Education Review Office report.

A limited statutory manager must also advise the board on the following:

Notice of Direction to Appoint a Limited Statutory Manager for the Board of Trustees of Kaingaroa Forest School (1759)

Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I direct the Secretary for Education to appoint a limited statutory manager for the Kaingaroa Forest School Board of Trustees because of the risks to the operation of the school and the educational achievement of the students at the school.

The following functions, powers and duties of the board are to be vested in a limited statutory manager:

  • Strategic planning and self-review;
  • financial planning and management; and
  • board organisation and management.

This notice takes effect the day after the date of publication.
