Notification of Proposal to Make Ordinary Rules

In accordance with section 34(1)(a) of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice of her intention to make the following ordinary Civil Aviation Rules:

CAR Part 121—Extended Diversion Time Operations

– The purpose of this rule-making proposal is to implement by rule making the information and guidance material currently located in Advisory Circular AC 121-1 for twin-engine aeroplanes that operate over a route containing a point farther than one hour flight time from an adequate aerodrome. The proposal also extends that information and guidance material to aeroplanes with more than two engines, and aligns it with international best practice and Regulations (NPRM 08-01. CAA Docket 0/CAR/1354).

  • CAR Part 1—Definitions and Abbreviations
  • CAR Part 12—Accidents, Incidents, and Statistics
  • CAR Part 119—Air Operator – Certification
