Social Security Act 1964

Extension of Approval for Rural Assistance Under
Special Needs Grants Programme

Under clauses 18.2 and 18.6 of the Special Needs Grants
Programme, as established and approved on 18 December
1998, under section 124(1)(d) of the Social Security Act
1964 (“the programme”), I extend the approval given on
10 July 2007* for Part 6 of the programme to apply to
specified farmers until the close of 30 June 2008.

Explanatory Note

This note is not part of the instrument but is intended to
indicate its general effect.

This instrument extends, until 30 June 2008, the approval
under Part 6 of the Special Needs Grant Programme for
rural assistance payments to be made to eligible farmers
whose land-based industries in parts of the East Coast,
Hawke’s Bay and Wairarapa areas, are affected by drought.
