The land and the easement are required for water treatment
purposes and in particular for the purpose of ensuring legal
access to a pipeline and water treatment tank built on the
land under the Public Works Act 1981.
The owner and any persons having a registered interest
in the land have been served with notice of the council’s
intention to take the land and right to object.
Any other person wishing to object to the proposed taking
of the said land may forward a written objection to
the Registrar, Environment Court, Department of Courts,
PO Box 7147, Wellesley Street, Auckland, within 20 working
days of the date of publication of this notice.
If any objection is made in accordance with this notice, a
public hearing will be held and the objector will be advised
of the time and place of the hearing and will have the right
to appear and be heard.

Reserves Act 1977

Revocation of a Notice Relating to a Reserve and
Issue of Fresh Notice

Under the Reserves Act 1977, the Conservator for the West
Coast Conservancy of the Department of Conservation, by
reason of an error made in the notice described, revokes the
notice headed Change of the Classification of a Reserve,
dated the 18th day of January 2008 and published in the
New Zealand Gazette, 24 January 2008, No. 9, page 265,
and issues the following notice as a fresh notice in its place.

Change of the Classification of a Reserve

Under the Reserves Act 1977, the Conservator for the West
Coast Conservancy of the Department of Conservation
changes the classification of the reserve described in the
Schedule from Kotare Recreation Reserve to Kotare Local
Purpose (community buildings) Reserve, subject to the
provisions of the Act.

Te Ture Whenua Maori Act 1993

Setting Apart Māori Freehold Land as a
Māori Reservation

Pursuant to section 338(1) of Te Ture Whenua Maori Act
1993, on the recommendation of the Māori Land Court,
the Māori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto
is hereby set apart as a Māori reservation for the purpose
of a burial ground for the benefit of Ngāti Tautahi and to be
known as Awaru Māori Reserve.
