Guidelines Issued to Ethics Committee on Assisted Reproductive Technology

Pursuant to sections 35 and 36 of the Human Assisted Reproductive Technology Act 2004 (“the HART Act”), the Advisory Committee on Assisted Reproductive Technology (ACART) has issued Guidelines on Embryo Donation for Reproductive Purposes to the Ethics Committee on Assisted Reproductive Technology (ECART) to come into effect from 17 November 2008.

The guidelines will be available on ACART’s website www.acart.health.govt.nz from that date.

These guidelines replace the Guidelines on Embryo Donation for Reproductive Purposes of the former National Ethics Committee on Assisted Human Reproduction, which ACART issued as advice to ECART on 22 November 2007, and published in the New Zealand Gazette, 29 September 2007, No. 130, page 3375.
