Deer Farming Notice No. 5, 2008
PURSUANT to section 12A of the Wild Animal Control Act 1977, the Minister of Conservation hereby gives the following notice:
NOTICE

This notice may be cited as the Deer Farming Notice No. 5, 2008.

Subject to the provisions of the Wild Animal Control Act 1977, farming of the species (including crosses and hybrids of such species) of deer specified in the First Schedule is permitted only in those parts of the areas named in the First Schedule which are not specified in the Second Schedule.

The fencing requirements for deer farming are specified in the Third Schedule.

Deer Farming Notice No. 4, 1986, published in the New Zealand Gazette, 14 August 1986, No. 127, page 3420, is hereby revoked.

| Part A Red deer, Fallow deer and Wapiti | (1) North-west of a line commencing from the mouth of Tuapiro Creek on the north-western shore of Tauranga Harbour westerly along Tuapiro Creek to its junction with State Highway 2, then westerly and northerly along State Highway 2 through Waimata, Waihi and Karangahake to its junction with State Highway 26 at Paeroa, then southerly and westerly along State Highway 26 through Tirohia, Mangaiti, Te Aroha, Waihou, Waitoa, Tatuanui, Morrinsville, Eureka and Newstead to its junction with State Highway 3 at Hamilton, then southerly along State Highway 3 through Ohaupo, Te Awamutu, Kihikihi and Otorohanga to its junction with State Highway 30 at Te Kuiti, then southerly along State Highway 30 through Waiteti, Puketutu, Kopaki and Mangapehi to its junction with Waimiha-Mangapehi Road, then southerly along Waimiha-Mangapehi Road to its junction with Takiri Road, then southerly along Takiri Road to Poorootarao Road, then southerly along Poorootarao Road to its junction with Ongarue Stream Road, then easterly along Ongarue Stream Road to its junction with the Ongarue River, then southerly along the right bank of the Ongarue River through Ongarue, Okahukura and Taumarunui to its junction with the Whanganui River, then southerly along the Whanganui River to the coastline at mean high water springs. |
