protection deposits or special deposits that is different from the rate specified in Schedules 1, 2, or 3 and the agreed rate then applies.

  1. Revocation of notice and transitional provisions—
    (1) The Public Trust Common Fund Interest Rates Notice 24 July 2008 is revoked.

(2) The rates of interest specified in Schedules 1 and 2 to this notice do not apply to any period that ends with 22 July 2008 but otherwise operate as from 23 July 2008.

(3) The rates of interest specified in Schedule 3 to this notice:

(i) do not apply to investment deposits repayable at the end of a fixed term that commenced prior to 23 July 2008; but

(ii) do apply to investment deposits repayable at the end of a fixed term that commenced on or after 23 July 2008.

Ministerial Direction – Disability Allowance Amendment 2008

To: The Chief Executive of the Ministry of Social Development.

Pursuant to section 5 of the Social Security Act 1964, the Minister for Social Development and Employment makes the following amendment to the Ministerial Direction—Disability Allowance dated on the 28th day of March 1999 and published in the New Zealand Gazette, 1 April 1999, No. 41, page 983.

Amendment

  1. Title—This amendment is the Ministerial Direction – Disability Allowance Amendment 2008.

  2. Commencement—This amendment comes into effect on 11 August 2008.

  3. Direction amended—This amendment amends the Ministerial Direction—Disability Allowance.

  4. Clause 3 amended—Clause 3(b) is amended by adding “or has decreased”.

Explanatory Note

This note is not part of the amendment, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This amendment removes the requirement on the chief executive to verify an expense that has decreased when reviewing a person’s entitlement to a disability allowance.
