Notice of Direction for Appointment of a Limited Statutory Manager for the Board of Trustees of Auckland Seventh Day Adventist High School (93)

Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I direct the Secretary for Education to appoint a limited statutory manager for the Auckland Seventh Day Adventist High School Board of Trustees because of risks to the educational achievement of its students and to the operation of the school.

The following functions, powers and duties of the board are to be vested in a limited statutory manager:

• All functions, powers and duties of the board as an employer (whether statutory or otherwise); and
• all functions, powers and duties of the board to manage curriculum and assessment practice (whether statutory or otherwise).

The following condition applies to the exercising of the powers by the limited statutory manager:

• Staff appointments must be made in consultation with the board.

This notice takes effect the day after the date of publication.

Licensing Criteria for Early Childhood Education and Care Services Notice 2008

Pursuant to Regulation 41(3) of the Education (Early Childhood Services) Regulations 2008 and Regulation 17(2) of the Education (Playgroups) Regulations 2008, the Secretary for Education gives notice that the following criteria have been prescribed by the Minister of Education for the purpose of assessing compliance with the minimum standards set out in the regulations below:

Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975

Change of Class of Hastings Christian School (443), Hastings

Pursuant to section 7(9) of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, I hereby declare that Hastings Christian School (443), Hastings, will change from a Year 1–10 restricted composite school to a Year 1–13 composite school to take effect on 28 January 2009.
