Notice of Amendment to Compliance Document B1 Structure, and Where Material Incorporated by Reference is Available for Inspection and Purchase

Pursuant to section 24(1) of the Building Act 2004 (“the Act”), I give notice of an amendment to the compliance document for New Zealand Building Code clause B1 Structure (“Compliance Document B1”) by the inclusion of a new verification method for structure (“B1/VM1”).

The amendment to Compliance Document B1 comes into force on 1 December 2008.

Compliance Document B1 is available for download free of charge from the Department of Building and Housing (“DBH”) website

Material ceasing to have legal effect

Pursuant to section 408 of the Act, I give notice that the following material incorporated by reference is revoked from B1/VM1 and will cease to have legal effect on 1 December 2008:

• NZS 3106:1986
• NZS 4203:1984
• NZS 4203:1992

• NZS 4230: Part 1: 1990

New material incorporated by reference

Pursuant to sections 405 and 410(1)(e) of the Act, I give notice that the following material will be incorporated by reference in B1/VM1 in the Compliance Document B1 effective on 1 December 2008:

Copies of material incorporated by reference are also available for purchase through all of DBH’s offices.

Viewing materials incorporated by reference

Materials incorporated by reference are available for inspection free of charge at all of DBH’s offices, between the hours of 8.30am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
