Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003

Order of the Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal in Disciplinary Session in Respect of Denyse Patricia Condon, Enrolled Nurse

The Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal (“the tribunal”), in a decision dated 12 January 2006 pursuant to the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003 (“the Act”), determined that Denyse Patricia Condon, enrolled nurse, had been convicted of offences that reflected adversely on her fitness to practise as a nurse.

The tribunal ordered that Denyse Patricia Condon’s registration as an enrolled nurse must be cancelled and recommended she should not be able to apply for re-registration until six months after the date of its decision.

The tribunal also ordered that Denyse Patricia Condon pay $2,251.10 (being 40% of the total costs and expenses of and incidental to the inquiry by the professional conduct committee and hearing by the tribunal).

The tribunal directed its executive officer, pursuant to section 157(2) of the Act, to publish a summary of the tribunal’s findings and orders in the New Zealand Gazette, Kai Tiaki: Nursing New Zealand, the New Zealand Nursing Review and the newsletter of the Nursing Council of New Zealand.

That summary should include Denyse Patricia Condon’s name.

Order of the Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal in Disciplinary Session in Respect of Richard Alexander Vesi Gulliver, Registered Nurse

The Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal (“the tribunal”), in a decision dated 19 September 2006 pursuant to the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003, determined that Richard Alexander Vesi Gulliver, registered nurse, was guilty of professional misconduct.

The tribunal ordered that Richard Alexander Vesi Gulliver’s registration be cancelled, censured him and fined him $500.00.

The tribunal also ordered that Richard Alexander Vesi Gulliver pay 50% of the total costs and expenses of the hearing and prosecution and directed that Richard Alexander Vesi Gulliver’s name should be published in the New Zealand Gazette, Kai Tiaki: Nursing New Zealand.
