Amendment to Food Standards (Notice No. 2)

Pursuant to section 11G of the Food Act 1981, notice is given that the New Zealand (Maximum Residue Limits of Agricultural Compounds) Food Standards 2007 Amendment No. 1 was issued by the Minister for Food Safety on 6 July 2007 and comes into force 28 days following publication of this notice in the New Zealand Gazette.

Copies of the notice may be inspected or obtained at the office of the New Zealand Food Safety Authority, South Tower, 68–86 Jervois Quay (PO Box 2835), Wellington.

Approval for Rural Assistance Under Special Needs Grants Programme

Under clauses 18.2 and 18.6 of the Special Needs Grants Programme, as established and approved on 18 December 1998* under section 124(1)(d) of the Social Security Act 1964 (“the programme”), I give my approval for Part 6 of the programme to apply as follows:

Rural Assistance – Farmers

1. Farmers in the affected areas whose land-based industries are directly affected by drought are eligible to be considered for financial assistance under Part 6 of the programme.

2. In relation to such farmers, Part 6 of the programme applies for the period beginning on 11 July 2007 and ending with the close of 31 December 2007, unless further extended by the Minister.

3. In this approval, affected areas means the territories of the following local authorities:

Hastings District Council

Central Hawke’s Bay District Council

Gisborne District Council

Wairoa District Council

Tararua District Council

Masterton District Council

Carterton District Council

South Wairarapa District Council

Napier City Council.

Notification of Receipt of Standard Terms Proposal From Telecom for the Unbundled Bitstream Access Service Under the Telecommunications Act 2001

Pursuant to section 30I(b) of the Telecommunications Act 2001 (“the Act”), the Commerce Commission (“the Commission”) gives public notice that it has received a proposal from Telecom Corporation of New Zealand Limited for the unbundled bitstream access service.

A copy of this proposal can be found on the Commission’s website at

Parties to the determination were notified on 13 July 2007 and have until 27 July 2007 to submit on the proposals.

Submissions may be made about any matter to which the proposal relates but must set out the wording of any additional or alternative terms that are proposed to be included in the standard terms determination.
