Notice of Intention to Take Land for Landfill Site in the Gisborne District

Pursuant to section 23 of the Public Works Act 1981, the Gisborne District Council gives notice of its intention to take under the Public Works Act 1981 the land described in the Schedule to this notice.

The land is required for the purpose of a landfill site and it is intended to use the land for a landfill and associated works.

The Gisborne District Council considers it reasonably necessary to take the land because the council wishes to provide a landfill in the Gisborne District for the disposal of waste.

Any person having the right to object may send a written objection to the Registrar, Environment Court, Tribunals Division, Ministry of Justice, PO Box 5027, Wellington, within 20 working days after the date of publication of this notice.

Reserves Act 1977

Declaration That Land is a Reserve

Under the Reserves Act 1977, the Community Relations Manager of the Canterbury Conservancy of the Department of Conservation notifies that the following resolution was passed by the Banks Peninsula District Council on the 31st day of August 2005:

“That in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 14 of the Reserves Act 1977, to amend part of its previous decision (04/180) that the land held by the Banks Peninsula District Council in fee simple and described in the Schedule, shall be the same and hereby declared to be a Recreation Reserve within the meaning of the Reserves Act 1977.”
