Explanatory note
This note is not part of the Instrument, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This instrument, which comes into effect on 1 April 2007, amends a number of Ministerial directions and welfare programmes under the Social Security Act 1964 to recognise de facto relationships within the meaning of section 29A the Interpretation Act 1999.

Land Vested in Meridian Energy Limited

Pursuant to section 24(1) of the State-Owned Enterprises Act 1986, the Ministers of Finance and State-Owned Enterprises, the shareholding ministers, hereby give notice as follows.

Notice

1. Title—This notice may be cited as the Meridian Energy Limited Vesting Notice 2007 No 1.

2. Application—This notice applies to the lands described in the Schedule to this notice, saving and excepting:

   Exemption from section 24 of the Conservation Act 1987, marginal strips published in New Zealand Gazette, 18 January 2007, No. 4, page 119.

3. Vesting—The lands to which this notice applies shall vest for an estate in fee simple in Meridian Energy Limited (a company duly incorporated under the Companies Act 1955, having its registered office at Wellington, and being a State Enterprise within the meaning of section 29(1) of the State-Owned Enterprises Act 1986).
