Notice of Intention to Apply for Approval of Code of Practice
Pursuant to section 79 of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996, the Environmental Risk Management Authority gives notice that the New Zealand Timber Preservation Council intends to apply for the approval of the Code of Practice for the Management of Existing Stationary Container Systems at Timber Treatment Facilities.
The code sets out a means of compliance with the requirements of Schedule 8 clause 100(2)(c) and Schedule 9 clause 4(4)(d) of the Hazardous Substances (Dangerous Goods and Scheduled Toxic Substances) Transfer Notice 2004 (as amended) in respect of stationary container systems that were in use prior to 1 April 2004 to contain hazardous liquids.

Land Transport Act 1998
Notification of Ordinary Rules
Pursuant to section 161(3) of the Land Transport Act 1998, notification is hereby given of the making of the following Land Transport Rules.

Land Transport Rule: Vehicle Equipment Amendment 2007 (Rule 32017/2)
This Rule, which comes into force on 1 June 2008, amends Land Transport Rule: Vehicle Equipment 2004 (Rule 32017).
The objective of this amendment Rule is to set the maximum decibel limit for vehicles entering into and being operated in service, and to extend objective noise testing to light motor vehicles at in-service inspection (warrant of fitness and certificate of fitness).

- Vehicle Dimensions and Mass Amendment (No 2) 2007 (Rule 41001/3)
- Vehicle Lighting Amendment (No 2) 2007 (Rule 32005/3)
- Vehicle Standards Compliance Amendment (No 2) 2007 (Rule 35001/4)
- Land Transport (Road User) Amendment Rule (No 2) 2007 (Rule 61001/3).
The objective of these eight amendment Rules is to make changes to the respective Land Transport Rules in order to clarify requirements, to update standards and other material incorporated by reference in Rules, to update Rules as a result of changes to other New Zealand legislation, to make minor technical or editing changes, or to correct minor inconsistencies or oversights in Rules.
These amendment Rules come into force on 17 January 2008.
The Rules are available for inspection free of charge at the National Office of Land Transport New Zealand, 7 Waterloo Quay, Wellington, and for purchase from January 2008 at selected bookshops that sell legislation.

Pursuant to section 26 of the Fire Service Act 1975, the New Zealand Fire Service Commission hereby gives the following notice.
Notice
- This notice may be cited as the Napier Fire District Abolition Notice, December 2007.
- This notice shall come into force on 17 December 2007.
- This notice abolishes the Napier Fire District and revokes any previous fire district notices pertaining to the Napier Fire District.
