ridgeline to the peak of Maungaroa Hill, then follow the ridgeline south-west to the headwaters of the Taheke Stream.
Follow the Taheke Stream downstream until it reaches the Verona Stream and follow this to the junction of Verona Stream
and Mangatiti Stream Grid Reference (NZMS 260-S20:930137). Follow Mangatiti Stream to start of Muri Muri Road to
Ruatiti Road and Ohura Road junction. Follow Ohura Road south to junction of Orautoha Stream and Manganuioteao
River Grid Reference (NZMS 260-S20:027067). Follow the Manganuioteao River eastward to junction of Makatote River.
Follow Makatote River to the National Park boundary Grid Reference (NZMS 260-S20:170128). Follow the National Park
boundary northward to State Highway 1 (Desert Road) Grid Reference (NZMS 260-T19:514270). Follow a straight line to
Trig Papapohatu Grid Reference (NZMS 260-T19:605357). From Trig Papapohatu in a straight line to Motutere Point on
Lake Taupo. Then in a straight line south-east to the Mohaka River Grid Reference (NZMS 260-U19:010264).
Then following the Mohaka River downstream to the road bridge on State Highway 5. From this point follow State
Highway 5 south-east to the Titiokura Summit, then north-east to the Trig named Wakaateo No. 2 Grid Reference (NZMS
260-V20:296170). From here, following the high points of the Maungaharuru Range to Trig Patuwahine No. 2
Grid Reference (NZMS 260-V19:427302), then in a straight line to Trig 88 Heruotureia Grid Reference (NZMS
260-V19:451315) then in a straight line to Rakaita Trig Grid Reference (NZMS 260-V19:437354). From this trig
north-west in a straight line to the junction of Henderson Road and Kerr Road Grid Reference (NZMS 260-U18:931795)
north of Rangitaiki, then in a straight line to the south bank of the Waikato River Grid Reference (NZMS 260-U17:
920839). Following the south bank of the Waikato River to the State Highway 1 bridge crossing the river at Lake Taupo
outlet.
Southern North Island
All land encompassed by the following peripheral line:
From the Owahanga River mouth up the Owahanga River to Crosshills. From Crosshills along the southern boundary
of Crosshills Station to Waihoki. Then west along Huia Road to its junction with Waihoki Valley Road. Then south
down Waihoki Valley Road to Grid Reference (NZMS 260-T25:733578) on the road. Then south to the Wellington
Regional boundary at Grid Reference (NZMS 260-T25:723546). Then in a general west south-west direction along
the regional boundary. At the point where the regional boundary meets Waitawhiti Road follow the paper road in an
easterly direction, along the northern boundary of Inverell and through Tanawha. Continue along the northern boundaries
of Oreti, Anerley, Te Mai iti and Te Mai to Te Mai Road. Follow Te Mai Road south and then west to the junction with
Tanawa Road. Follow Tanawa Road south to where it changes to the Tinui Valley Road. Follow the Tinui Valley Road to
the Masterton-Castlepoint Road. Follow the Masterton-Castlepoint Road in a westerly direction to Te Ore Ore Road.
Follow Te Ore Ore Road west to State Highway 2. Follow State Highway 2 south to Lincoln Road. Follow Lincoln
Road west to Akura Road. Follow Akura Road west to Matahiwi Road. Follow Matahiwi Road west to Wakamoekau
Creek. Follow Wakamoekau Creek upstream to the eastern boundary of the Tararua Forest Park. Then following
the eastern boundary of the Tararua Forest Park in a general south-westerly direction to Wallace Trig Featherston at
Grid Reference (NZMS 260-S27:034099) then north-west in a direct line to Saddle Trig (Akatarawa Saddle) at Grid
Reference (NZMS 260-R26:875264). From Saddle Trig in a south west direct line to the Paekakariki Hill Road at
Grid Reference (NZMS 260-R26:732166). Following the Paekakariki Hill Road south to Pauatahanui. From Pauatahanui
following State Highway 58 west to the intersection with State Highway 1. Following State Highway 1 south to
Ngauranga. From Ngauranga following the coastline and State Highway 2 to the Petone foreshore. From the Petone
foreshore east following the coastline to Pencarrow Head, to Turakirae Head, to Cape Palliser, to Castlepoint to the
Owahanga River mouth.
Tasman/West Coast
All land encompassed by the following peripheral line:
From the mouth of the Motueka River, upstream along the true left of the Motueka River to a point where the Motueka
West Bank Road meets the Motueka River, then west to Hailes Knob. Then north-west to Parapara Peak in Golden Bay,
then south-west to Mt Olympus, then west to Mt Perry, then north-west to Percy Peak. Then along the high points of the
Wakamarama Range to Mt Stevens, Mt Higgins, to Mt Haidinger in the Burnett Range, to Mt Burnett. Then south to
the bridge over Gorge Creek on the Collingwood Puponga Main Road, then downstream along the left bank of Gorge
Creek to Ruataniwha Inlet on the Golden Bay coast, and then along the coastline around Farewell Spit to Three Mile
Lagoon on the Tasman Sea. Then in a direct line east to the western side of Lake Wahapo where it gives rise to the Okarito
River, then in a direct line south-east to Mt Loughnan on the Main Divide. Then up the Main Divide to Mt Barron, then
along the high points west to Mt Novaro and on to Mt Hochstetter and the Nancy-Tass Saddle. Then north-west to
Mt Rameses and on to Mt Harata. Then north-east to Mt Gore, then south-east to Mt Puttick, then north-east to Mt Haast.
Then east to the Rahu Saddle on the Reefton/Springs Junction highway. Then north to Creighton Peak in the Victoria
Range and on to Mt Victoria. Then north and north-east along the high points to Mt Pelion, Mt Wynn, Mt Curtis to
Boundary Peak. Then north-east along the high points to the junction of Little Deepdale Creek and the Buller River. Then
upstream of the Buller River to the junction of the Buller and Hope Rivers at Kawatiri Junction. Then north-east to
the Hope Saddle. Then north-east and north along the high points of the Pinchback Range to the beaconed trig on Kohatu
(643m) then north-east to the Motueka River. Then downstream of the Motueka River to the Tapawera-Glenhope bridge,
then east along the centre of the Tapawera-Glenhope Road to the intersection with State Highway 61 at Tapawera. Then
north to the bridge over the Stanley Brook on the Upper Stanley Brook Road, then north-east to the Cowin Bridge over
the Dove River at Thorpe on the Thorpe-Dovedale Road, then north-east to the Rosedale Saddle on Rosedale Road. Then
north to the Central Road-Holdaway Road intersection, then east along the centre of Holdaway Road to the footbridge over
the Moutere River. Then downstream of the Moutere River to the coast and then along the coast to the mouth of the
Motueka River.
Marlborough/North Canterbury
All land encompassed by the following peripheral line:
From the White Bluffs on the coast at Cloudy Bay west to Redwood Pass, then south-west to Dashwood Pass, then west to
Taylor Pass, The Ned and Wards Peak, then south-west to The Throne, then west to the junction of the Tummil and Avon
