Application for Undertaking
On 19 January 2007, the Commerce Commission
(“Commission”) received an application from Vodafone New Zealand Limited for an undertaking under Schedule 3A of the Telecommunications Amendment Act (No 2) 2006 (“the Act”).
The undertaking relates to the Commission’s current investigation under Schedule 3 of the Act into whether or not to amend the specified services of National Roaming and Co-location on Cellular Mobile Transmission Sites.

Pursuant to clause 16 of Schedule 3A of the Act, the Commission gives public notice of the application for an undertaking.
Submissions on the application are due by 9 March 2007.

Land Transport Rule: Traffic Control Devices 2004 – School Bus Signs
Pursuant to subclause 4.4(4) of Land Transport Rule: Traffic Control Devices 2004, and under authority delegated to me, I, Lyndon Hammond, Manager Networks, authorise the installation and maintenance of the signs described in the Schedule to this notice.
Schedule
W17-1.3 School bus – “symbolic children” plus flashing lights
When the lights are flashing, the school bus (for the purpose of allowing children to board or alight) is about to stop, is stopped, or has stopped and is moving away:
(a) when the bus is stopped drivers must slow to 20 km/h – clause 5.6 of Land Transport (Road User) Rule 2004; and
(b) at other times drivers should slow their vehicles and be prepared to stop if necessary.

Notes
The dimensions, descriptions and terms contained in this notice conform to the opening notes of Schedule 1, Land Transport Rule: Traffic Control Devices 2004.
The W17-1.3 sign above replaces the W17-1.3 sign described in the said Schedule 1 and provides an alternative school bus sign where flashing lights are used having the meaning described.
The W17-1.4 provides an alternative school bus sign to the existing W17-1.1 and W17-1.2.
