Notice of Proposal to Promote an Indicative Referendum Petition

Pursuant to section 7 of the Citizens Initiated Referenda Act 1993, I give notice that I have received from

Larry Baldock

a proposal to promote an indicative referendum petition.
The wording of the question proposed to be put to voters
in an indicative referendum is

“Should the Government give urgent priority to
understanding and addressing the wider causes of
family breakdown, family violence and child abuse
in New Zealand?”

Comment is invited on this wording.

Amendment to Food Standards (No. 16) (Notice No. 1573)

Pursuant to section 11G of the Food Act 1981, notice is
given that the New Zealand (Australia New Zealand Food
Standards Code) Food Standards 2002, Amendment No. 16,
was issued by the Minister for Food Safety on 18 December
2006 and comes into force 28 days following publication of
this notice in the New Zealand Gazette.

This food standard can be viewed on the New Zealand Food
Safety Authority website

www.nzfsa.govt.nz

or can be inspected free of charge at the New Zealand Food
Safety Authority, 86 Jervois Quay, Wellington, or purchased
from Bennetts or Whitcoulls bookshops.
