Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996
Notice of Intention to Apply for Approval of Code of Practice
Pursuant to section 79 of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996, the Environmental Risk Management Authority gives notice of its intention to apply for the approval of the Code of Practice for the Management of Existing Stationary Container Systems up to 60,000 litres capacity.
The code sets out a means of compliance with the requirements of Schedule 8, clause 100 (2) (c) and Schedule 9, clause 4 (4) (d) of the Hazardous Substances (Dangerous Goods and Scheduled Toxic Substances) Transfer Notice 2004 (as amended) in respect of stationary tanks that were in use prior to 1 April 2004 to contain hazardous liquids, or were designed and construction of the stationary container system had commenced by that date.

Land Transport Act 1998
Land Transport Rules
In accordance with section 161 (2) of the Land Transport Act 1998, Land Transport New Zealand, on behalf of the Minister of Transport, gives notice of the Minister’s intention to make a Rule that proposes amendments to 11 Land Transport Rules, and advises that the draft Rule Land Transport Rule: Omnibus Amendment 2006 (Rule 10002) is available for public comment.
This draft legislation proposes to amend the following Land Transport Rules:
Glazing, Windscreen Wipe and Wash, and Mirrors 1999 (Rule 32012/1)
Heavy Vehicles 2004 (Rule 31002)
Light-vehicle Brakes 2002 (Rule 32014)
Passenger Service Vehicles 1999 (Rule 31001)
Setting of Speed Limits 2003 (Rule 54001)
Traffic Control Devices 2004 (Rule 54002)
Tyres and Wheels 2001 (Rule 32013)
Vehicle Dimensions and Mass 2002 (Rule 41001)
Vehicle Lighting 2004 (Rule 32005)
Vehicle Standards Compliance 2002 (Rule 35001/1)
Land Transport (Road User) Rule 2004 (Rule 61001)
The proposed Rule amendments will make consequential changes required as a result of changes to other land transport legislation, including rules, clarify existing requirements, update standards incorporated by reference in rules and make other minor changes to rules.
