Amendment to Notice of Recognition of Institutions and Academic Qualifications by the Veterinary Council of New Zealand

Pursuant to sections 8 (1) (b) and 8 (3) of the Veterinarians Act 2005, the Veterinary Council of New Zealand notice with the above heading, published in the New Zealand Gazette, 23 March 2006, No. 27, page 739, is amended by replacing the text under the headings "Prescribed Examinations" and "Prescribed Assessment Programmes" with the following:

Prescribed Examinations

Veterinary Council of New Zealand, New Zealand National Veterinary Examination

Australasian Veterinary Boards Council, Australian National Veterinary Examination
Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, Membership examination (MRCVS by examination)*

Prescribed Assessment Programmes

American Veterinary Medical Association, Certificate of the Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates*

Canadian National Examining Board Licensing Examination*

Those who have achieved the examination/assessment programmes marked with an asterisk must also be eligible to sit the New Zealand National Veterinary Examination.
