Fisheries (SQU1T Total Allowable Catch) Notice 2006 (No. F362)

Pursuant to section 14 of the Fisheries Act 1996, the Minister of Fisheries, after having regard to the matters specified in that section, makes the following notice.

Notice

1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Fisheries (SQU1T Total Allowable Catch) Notice 2006.

(2) This notice shall come into effect the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

2. SQU1T Fishery defined—(1) The SQU1T quota management area is the area as defined in the Fisheries (Squid Quota Management Areas, Total Allowable Catches, and Catch Histories) Notice 1987.

3. Total allowable catch for the SQU1T Fishery increased for the 2005-06 fishing year in accordance with section 14 (6) of the Fisheries Act 1996—The total allowable catch for the SQU1T Fishery for the 2005-06 fishing year is increased to 53,689.06 tonnes greenweight.

4. Total allowable catch for the SQU1T Fishery reverts to the total allowable catch that applied at the beginning of the 2005-06 fishing year in accordance with section 14 (7) of the Fisheries Act 1996—From 1 October 2006, the total allowable catch for the Squid 1T Fishery reverts back to 44,740.881 tonnes greenweight.
