Area D: That part of the region north of the Opihi River only over agricultural grain crops and green feed paddocks and more than 200 m from any water body.

Chukar Hunting: Chukar hunting is by permit only. Permits are available on request from the Fish and Game office in Temuka.

Registered Game Preserves

Dorset Downs Game Preserve: That fenced area of Dorset Downs Station at Maungati near Timaru, marked with signposts reading Dorset Downs Game Preserve.

Ngahere Game Ranch: That fenced area of Ngahere Station adjoining Upper Mill Road, Waimate, marked with signposts reading Ngahere Game Ranch.

Shooting Hours

6.45 a.m. to 6.30 p.m., except that during the period 1 June 2006 to 8 April 2007 inclusive, Canada geese may be hunted or killed 24 hours per day during the specified open season.

Decoy Limit

Lake Wainono and the Wainono Reserve: From opening day to the second Sunday after opening day, no person or persons sharing a stand shall use more than 25 decoys. No decoys to be placed within 50 metres of those placed by occupant(s) of another stand.

Rest of season: No limit.
