TARIFF CONCESSION APPROVALS, WITHDRAWALS AND DECLINES NOTICE (NO. 07) 2006

I, Vincent Anthony Manks, Executive Officer, Ministry of Economic Development, acting pursuant to section 8 of the Tariff Act 1988 under delegated authority hereby:

(a) In accordance with Part II of the Tariff approve in respect of the entry of goods listed in the First Schedule to this notice the rates of duty or exemptions from duty specified in that Schedule with effect from the first day of the month so specified; and

(b) In accordance with Part II of the Tariff approve in respect of the entry of goods listed in the Second Schedule to this notice the exemptions from duty specified in that Schedule with effect from the first day of the month so specified subject however to such purposes and conditions which I prescribe

(c) Withdraw with effect fourteen days from the date of this Gazette, or otherwise at the date so specified, the approvals granted in respect of the entry of goods listed in the Third Schedule to this notice

(d) Decline to approve in respect of the goods listed in the Fourth Schedule to this notice concessions for which application was made

(e) In accordance with Part II of the Tariff approve in respect of the entry of goods listed in the Fifth Schedule to this notice the exemption from duty of such goods with effect from the first day of the month so specified.

FIRST SCHEDULE

Concessions Approved

1. Sawbenches with sawblades not exceeding 330mm
2. Radial arm saws, overhead crosscut saws, trenching machines and work centres incorporating a radial arm saw, with blade diameters up to and including 360mm diameter
3. Pendulum type crosscut saws including spida type for sawblades up to and including 450mm diameter
4. Thicknessers, with a width capacity up to and including 330mm
5. Surface planers, buzzers, or jointers with a blade not exceeding 310mm
6. Bandsaws with a throat capacity not exceeding 475mm
7. Wood lathes manually operated, with or without copy device
8. Horizontal dowel boring machines with manual feed
9. Drill presses bench or floor mounting, column type, belt driven, manually operated
10. Glue reactivation edgebanding machines, hand fed
11. Sawmilling machinery:
    • Automatic firewood saws
    • Breast benches
    • Circular breakdown saws
    • Docking saws
    • Log cut-off swing saws
    • Post peelers
    • Splitting saws
    • Vertical breakdown saws
12. Hydraulic wood or log splitters, excluding electric powered types not exceeding 2200w
13. Machine-tools for bending hard plastic

SECOND SCHEDULE

Concession Approvals Subject to Prescribed Purposes and Conditions
