Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005

Notice of End of Process for Making and Determining Victims’ Claims

Take notice that, pursuant to Part 2, (subpart 2) of the Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005 (“the Act”), compensation awarded to Jason Keith Davis was paid to the Secretary for Justice on 18 April 2006, and the surplus was paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account on 19 May 2006 on behalf of Jason Keith Davis to enable any victims of that offender to make claims against it.

And that on 23 September 2006, notice was given by publication on the Ministry of Justice web site, and in the daily newspapers in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch and on 27 September 2006 in the daily newspaper in Dunedin, of the sum of money paid into the trust account and the entitlement of victims of the offender to claim against this money and the manner to do so.

Under section 32 of the Act, the Secretary for Justice has now paid out all of the money held in the trust account on behalf of Jason Keith Davis.

Pursuant to sections 128 and 129 of the Sentencing Act 2002, an order was made in the Lower Hutt District Court on 14 December 2006, for the confiscation of the following motor vehicle:
