Marine Mammals Protection Act 1978

Application to Hold Marine Mammals

Pursuant to section 5 of the Marine Mammals Protection Act 1978, the Director-General of Conservation notifies that an application was received from David Jacobs on 20 September 2006 to:

● Hold an adult New Zealand fur seal (Arctocephalus forsteri) for the purpose of tanning the skin. The resulting product will ultimately be used for a cultural display.
