Determination of New Organisms

Pursuant to section 26 of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996, the Environmental Risk Management Authority hereby determines that the following are new organisms:

Proserpinaca palustris L. 1753 (Haloragaceae);
Nesaea pedicellata Hiern (Lythraceae);
Bacopa myriophylloides Wettst. (Scrophulariaceae);
Cladophora aegagropila (L.) Rabenhorst syn: Aegagropila linnaei Kütz. 1843;
Pogostemon helferi (Hook.f.) J. R. Press 1982. syn: Dysophylla helferi (Hook.f.) (Labiatae);
Monosolenium tenerum Griff. (Monoseleniaceae);
Eusteralis stellata (Lour.) G. Murata 1976. syn: Mentha stellata Buch. Ham. (Labiatae);
Ludwigia inclinata (L.f.) M. Gómez var. verticillata (Munz) Kasselm. 2003. syn: Ludwigia verticillata Munz 1944 (Onagraceae);
Eriocaulaceae possibly Eriocaulon sp1 (CHR 574287);
and
Eriocaulon sp1 (Eriocaulaceae) (CHR 574291).

Undescribed species. On submitting samples to the Landcare Research’s Allan Herbarium, these two samples were allocated an accession number (see above) until they are taxonomically classified.

Land Transport Act 1998

Power-assisted Pedal Cycles (Declaration Not to be Motor Vehicles) Notice 2006

Pursuant to section 168A (2) of the Land Transport Act 1998 (“the Act”), and pursuant to an authority delegated to me by the Director of Land Transport (“the director”), I, John Patrick White, Manager Vehicles, declare power-assisted pedal cycles propelled by a motor that has a maximum power output not exceeding 300 W not to be motor vehicles.

Land Transport Rule: Setting of Speed Limits 2003

90 km/h Speed Limit State Highway No. 2, Omokoroa to Tauranga

Pursuant to clause 6.3 of Land Transport Rule: Setting of Speed Limits 2003 (as inserted by Land Transport Rule: Setting of Speed Limits Amendment 2005) and a delegation from the Director of Land Transport, I, Peter Graeme Croft, Manager Networks, approve a 90 km/h speed limit on State Highway No. 2 in accordance with the conditions set out in this notice.

Conditions

  1. 90 km/h Speed Limit

Transit New Zealand may set a 90 km/h speed limit on State Highway No. 2 from a point 200 metres north of Plummers Point Road at Omokoroa (RP 130/9.07) to a point 345 metres west of Carmichael Road at Bethlehem, Tauranga (RP 146/0.59), excluding the existing 80 km/h speed limit at Te Puna.

  1. Monitoring

Transit New Zealand must monitor the speed of vehicles and crashes in the 90 km/h sections of road and adjacent sections of road for a minimum two-year evaluation period as set out in the letter from Land Transport New Zealand to Transit New Zealand dated 30 January 2006.

  1. Signs

Speed limit signs that comply with Land Transport Rule: Traffic Control Devices 2004 must be installed to mark the beginning and end of the 90 km/h speed limit. Signs at each point where the speed limit changes and repeater signs must be installed in accordance with Land Transport Rule: Setting of Speed Limits 2003. Urban threshold signs must be installed at Bethlehem where the speed limit changes from 90 km/h to 50 km/h.

  1. Bylaw

To set the 90 km/h speed limit approved in this notice, Transit New Zealand must make a bylaw in accordance with Land Transport Rule: Setting of Speed Limits 2003.

Auckland Fire Districts Notice, January 2006

Pursuant to section 26 of the Fire Service Act 1975, the New Zealand Fire Service Commission hereby gives the following notice.

Notice

  1. This notice may be cited as the Auckland Fire Districts Notice, January 2006.

  2. This notice comes into force on the day of its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

  3. This notice revokes and is in substitution for all previous fire district notices for the districts listed in the Schedule.

Constitution of Fire Districts

(a) The urban areas listed in the Schedule are constituted as Fire Districts.

(b) The boundaries of the fire districts as listed are defined and delineated on plans held at the National Headquarters, New Zealand Fire Service, Wellington.
