TARIFF CONCESSION APPROVALS, WITHDRAWALS AND DECLINES NOTICE (NO. 19) 2005

I, Vincent Anthony Manks, Executive Officer, Ministry of Economic Development, acting pursuant to section 8 of the Tariff Act 1988 under delegated authority hereby:

(a) In accordance with Part II of the Tariff approve in respect of the entry of goods listed in the First Schedule to this notice the rates of duty or exemptions from duty specified in that Schedule with effect from the first day of the month so specified; and

(b) In accordance with Part II of the Tariff approve in respect of the entry of goods listed in the Second Schedule to this notice the exemptions from duty specified in that Schedule with effect from the first day of the month so specified subject however to such purposes and conditions which I prescribe;

(c) Withdraw with effect fourteen days from the date of this Gazette, or otherwise at the date so specified, the approvals granted in respect of the entry of goods listed in the Third Schedule to this notice;

(d) Decline to approve in respect of the goods listed in the Fourth Schedule to this notice concessions for which application was made.

(11) Energy management systems, peculiar to use for measuring, analysing and controlling electrical demand
(12) Gas detection systems, peculiar for use in commercial and/or industrial environments, which measure and report concentrations of flammable or toxic gases in the air via alarm and/or analogue
(13) Rectangular style moving coil and moving coil/rectifier ammeters and voltmeters including milliameters having a face with a long side falling between 80mm and 92mm and a short side falling between 72mm and 84mm
(14) Portable electrically powered gas leak detector, gas detector and gas monitor and smoke warning alarms
(15) Post payment self-service petrol dispensing systems
(16) Power factor correction systems, including power factor controllers and ancillary equipment mounted in a common cubicle and designed to measure and automatically control the overall power factor in a 3-phase electrical installation, and such power factor controllers when imported separately
(17) Telemetry system designed for the remote control measuring and indicating of physical and electrical data, such as voltage, current, power and position status
(18) Electronic taximeters
(19) Ripple signal control equipment
(20) Parts of electrical weight or load measuring equipment; viz: load cells, load bars, weigh cells, load transducers, weight transducers, strain gauge transducers, force transducers Other than: Hermetically sealed transducers (being gas tight), shock proof transducers (being without fittings or attachments), explosion proof transducers, load pins, shackle pins, cannister cells, single point cells, pancake cells, dual cantilever, straight types
(21) Electrical transducers including signal converters and isolators. Transducers are devices that measure an electrical quantity and converts it into a directly related load-independent DC current or voltage. The input may be current, voltage, power, phase angle frequency, resistance or other such electrical quantity
