Explanation of Changes to Fees

  1. Annual practising certificate fees for dental technicians have reduced from $450.00 to $400.00.

  2. Annual practising certificate fees for clinical dental technicians have increased from $450.00 to $750.00 due to the Act’s
    additional requirements.

  3. Examination fees increased from $1,500.00 to $1,700.00 to reflect the increased cost per candidate arising from fewer
applicants now applying to sit the exam.

  4. All other fees are unchanged.

Note: This note is an explanation of changes to dental technician and clinical dental technician fees.

The implementation of the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003 has combined dentists, dental technicians,
clinical dental technicians, dental hygienists and dental therapists under the control of the Dental Council.

Where possible, the fees for similar services have been standardised.

Fees generally reflect the cost of providing the services.
