Any person may make a written submission to the Director-General, under section 17 of the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997, concerning any application notified above.
Such submissions:
(a) must state in full the reasons for making the submission;
(b) may state any decision sought on that application;
(c) must be received by the Director-General no later than 30 working days after the date of notification in the New Zealand Gazette; and
(d) should be forwarded to the address given below.
A copy of every submission will be forwarded to the applicant for their information.
The address below is:
(a) where submissions and requests for copies of the public information relating to the application can be sent;
(b) where the public information relating to the application can be viewed; and
(c) the Director-General’s address for service:

Education Act 1989

Notice of Direction for Appointment of a Limited Statutory Manager for the Board of Trustees of Auckland Normal Intermediate (1211)

Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I direct the Secretary for Education to appoint a limited statutory manager for the Auckland Normal Intermediate Board of Trustees because of risks both to the operation of the school and to the educational performance of the students at the school.

The following functions, powers and duties of the board are to be vested in the limited statutory manager:

  • All functions, powers and duties of the board as an employer (whether statutory or otherwise).

The limited statutory manager must also advise the board on the following:

  • Ensuring areas of improvement identified in the February 2005 Education Review Office report are addressed;
  • student achievement;
  • ensuring effective procedures are in place to handle complaints; and
  • establishing strong governance.

The following condition applies to the exercising of the powers by the limited statutory manager:

  • Staff appointments must be made in consultation with the board.

This notice takes effect the day after the date of publication of this notice.

Acting with authority delegated by the Minister of Education under section 101 (7) of the Education Act 1989, I approve Friday, 10 June 2005, as the closing date for voting in the first elections of parent representatives, a staff representative and a student representative for Albany Junior High School Board of Trustees, Auckland.

I also approve Thursday, 23 June 2005, as the date for the first meeting of the board of trustees.

Cancellation of Licence for an Early Childhood Centre

Pursuant to Regulation 12 (1) (d) (i) of the Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1998, and acting under authority delegated by the Secretary for Education, I hereby cancel the licence dated 3 March 2003, which was granted under those Regulations to Patrice Johnston in respect of Mokoreta Pre-school (90200), situated at Redan Mokoreta Hall, R.D. 2, Wyndham.

This notice shall take effect the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.
