Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003
Chiropractic (Fees) Notice 2006
Pursuant to Part 6, section 130 (1) of the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003, the following notice is given.
Notice

Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Chiropractic (Fees) Notice 2006.
(2) This notice comes into force on 1 February 2006. -
Fees—The Chiropractic Board sets the following fees, payable to the board, specified in the attached Schedule.

Tax—The fees are inclusive of goods and services tax.

Key to annotations

The fee is reduced to $400.00 for persons registered on or after 1 October in the current APC year.

The board may grant a refund of $700.00 to registered chiropractors who have worked as a locum in New Zealand for a period of less than two calendar months in the current APC year. This can be claimed by providing evidence of time employed to the Registrar at the end of the period worked and submitting their annual practising certificate to the Registrar for cancellation.

Notice of Scopes of Practice and Prescribed Qualifications
Issued by the Dental Council of New Zealand, pursuant to sections 11 and 12 of the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003, the following scope replaces the Scope of General Dental Hygiene Practice published in a Supplement to the New Zealand Gazette, 20 May 2005, No. 81, page 1927.
Scope of General Dental Hygiene Practice
The scope of practice for dental hygiene is set out in the documented Detailed Scope of General Dental Hygiene Practice produced and published from time to time by the Dental Council of New Zealand.
Dental hygiene practice is a subset of the practice of dentistry, and is commensurate with a dental hygienist’s approved education, training and competence.
A dental hygienist’s major role is in the provision of oral health education and the prevention of oral disease to promote healthy oral behaviours. A dental hygienist’s primary task is in prevention and non-surgical treatment of periodontal diseases. A dental hygienist guides patients’ personal care to maintain sound oral tissues as an integral part of their general health.
