as a child and family support service, pursuant to section 396 of the Children, Young Persons, and Their Families Act 1989, was revoked on 8 November 2005.

Marine Mammals Protection Act 1978

Application to Export and Import Marine Mammals

Pursuant to section 5 of the Marine Mammals Protection Act 1978, the Director-General of Conservation notifies that the following application was received from Dr Stuart Parsons, University of Auckland, on 30 October 2005 to:

  • Export rectum/colon samples from five dead pygmy sperm whales to Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, New York, for the purpose of histological analysis.
  • Return the samples to New Zealand once the research is complete.

Any person wishing to make a submission on this application can do so by writing to the Manager, Marine Conservation Unit, within 28 days after publication of this notice.

Unless a person making a submission states to the contrary in the submission, that person will be deemed to give his/her consent to the release, under the Official Information Act 1982, of all the information in the submission.

Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I hereby amend the notice regarding the direction to appoint a limited statutory manager for the Riverdale School Board of Trustees published in the New Zealand Gazette, 13 October 2005, No. 175, page 4403.

The appointment of a limited statutory manager for the Board of Trustees of Riverdale School will take effect from Friday, 18 November 2005.
