(v) deliver the national curriculum documents in te reo
Māori to families who desire this education option
and endeavour to foster children who will have
fluency in te reo Māori, who will receive a quality
education and who will be unlimited by their choices
in life; and

(vi) provide a high standard of education in te reo Māori
in conjunction with the teacher, the kura, the whanau
and the iwi of South Hokianga.

Constitution of the Board of Trustees
6. The Board of Trustees of Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Te
Tonga o Hokianga shall comprise:

(a) five people appointed by the Minister of Education;

(b) the principal, or principal designate; and

(c) not more than four people co-opted by the board.

The school will become operational on 1 October 2005. The
present kura teina, Te Tonga o Hokianga, will cease to exist

Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Pukemiro Establishment

Pursuant to sections 146 and 155 of the Education Act 1989,
the Minister of Education hereby gives the following notice.

Notice

  1. This notice may be cited as Te Kura Kaupapa Māori
    o Pukemiro Establishment.

  2. This notice shall come into force the day after its
    publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

  3. I hereby establish in Pukepoto, a full primary school
    called Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Pukemiro and designate
    the school as a kura kaupapa Māori.

  4. The school will operate in accordance with Te Aho
    Matua.

  5. The special characteristics of Te Kura Kaupapa Māori
    o Pukemiro are:

(i) Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Pukemiro commit totally
to the guiding principles outlined in Te Aho Matua.

(ii) That the paramount purpose of Te Kura Kaupapa
Māori o Pukemiro is the needs of tamariki and their
learning.

(iii) That all tamariki enjoy an education, which
respects their tino rangitiratanga, dignity, rights and
individuality.

(iv) We undertake to educate our tamariki through te reo
Māori total immersion as a medium of instruction.

(v) That our tamariki develop sensitivity and respect for
all others.

(vi) That this education challenges them to reach their
full potential in the pursuit of excellence.

Constitution of the Board of Trustees

Regulations 1998

Cancellation of Licence for an Early
Childhood Centre

Pursuant to Regulation 12 (1) (d) (i) of the Education
(Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1998, and acting
under authority delegated by the Secretary for Education,
I hereby cancel the licence dated 10 November 2004, which
was granted under those Regulations to Laine Tipi in
respect of Maranata Aoga Amata (20568), situated at
217 Rosebank Road, Avondale, Auckland.
This notice shall take effect the day after the date of its
notification in the New Zealand Gazette.
