Notice of Direction for Appointment of a Limited Statutory Manager for the Board of Trustees of Murchison Area School (299)

Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I direct the Secretary for Education to appoint a limited statutory manager for the Murchison Area School Board of Trustees because of risks to the operation of the school, the welfare and educational performance of the students at the school.

The following functions, powers and duties of the board are to be vested in a limited statutory manager:

● All functions, powers and duties of the board as an employer (whether statutory or otherwise).

The limited statutory manager must also advise the board on the following:

● Implementation of a performance management system for the teaching staff;
● matters related to student welfare;
● financial management; and
● curriculum management.

This notice takes effect the day after the date of publication.

Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1998

Cancellation of Licence for an Early Childhood Centre

Pursuant to Regulation 12 (1) (d) (ii) of the Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1998, and acting under authority delegated by the Secretary for Education, I hereby cancel the licence dated 1 August 2003, which was granted under those Regulations to Johanna Korent in respect of Little Ones Educare Limited (52538), situated at 5 Rutland Street, Levin.

This notice shall take effect the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975

Supplementary Integration Agreement

Pursuant to section 78N (3) of the Education Act 1989, I hereby dissolve the board of trustees of Ngamatapouri School and appoint

Ken McKinnon

as commissioner to replace that board.

All functions, powers and duties of the board of Ngamatapouri School are vested in the commissioner.

This notice takes effect the day after the date of publication.

Pursuant to section 10 of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, notice is given that a supplementary integration agreement has been signed between the Minister of Education on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen, acting through the Senior Manager, National Operations, Ministry of Education, pursuant to delegated authority, and the proprietor of the following school:

St Thomas More Catholic School, Mt Maunganui.

The said supplementary integration agreement was executed on 6 July 2005.

A copy of the supplementary integration agreement is available for inspection without charge by any member of the public at the local office of the Ministry of Education, Level Four, 1144 Pukaki Street, Rotorua.

Reappointments to the Pharmaceutical Management Agency

Pursuant to section 28 (1) (a) of the Crown Entities Act 2004, I have reappointed

Helmut Modlik

David Moore

as members of the Pharmaceutical Management Agency for one-year terms of office commencing 1 July 2005.

Pursuant to section 28 (1) (a) and clause 1 (1) of Schedule 5 of the Crown Entities Act 2004, I have also reappointed

Richard Waddel

as member and chairperson of the Pharmaceutical Management Agency for a one-year term of office commencing 1 July 2005.

These appointments were made by way of written notice to the members (with a copy to the entity) pursuant to section 28 (2) and clause 1 (1) of Schedule 5 of the Crown Entities Act 2004.
