Appointment/reappointments to Council of Legal Education

Pursuant to section 31 of the Law Practitioners Act 1982,
Her Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

Wayne Chapman, barrister and solicitor of Wellington
as a member of the Council of Legal Education for a term of
three years commencing on 17 July 2005; and to reappoint

Christine Grice, barrister and solicitor of Hamilton
Dr Richard Worth, O.B.E., the Member of Parliament
for Epsom

as members of the Council of Legal Education for a term of
three years commencing on 17 July 2005.

Education Act 1989

Notice of Direction for Appointment of a Limited Statutory Manager for the Board of Trustees of Richmond School (2665), Napier

Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I direct
the Secretary for Education to appoint a limited statutory
manager for the board of trustees of Richmond School,
Napier, because of risks to the operation of the school and
the educational performance of its students.

The following functions, powers and duties of the board are
to be vested in a limited statutory manager:

  • All functions, powers and duties of the board as an employer (whether statutory or otherwise); and
  • all functions, powers and duties of the board in regard to the implementation of the April 2005 Education Review Office report recommendations.

The limited statutory manager may also advise the board on
the following:

  • The implementation of appropriate health and safety practice and procedure; and
  • the functions, powers and duties of the board to manage financial operations.

This notice takes effect the day after the date of publication.

I hereby amend the Notice of Appointment of a
Commissioner at Waitati School (as published in the
New Zealand Gazette, 12 August 2004, page 2435) and appoint

Colin Brown

as commissioner for Waitati School.

All functions, powers and duties of the board of Waitati School are vested in the commissioner.

This notice takes effect the day after the date of publication.
