  1. These frequencies are, or may be, allocated for use by other services. Amateur licensees must accept interference from, and must not cause interference to, such other services.

  2. The frequencies:

27.12 MHz (26.957 – 27.283 MHz),

433.92 MHz (433.05 – 434.79 MHz),

921.5 MHz (915 – 928 MHz),

2.45 GHz (2.4 – 2.5 GHz),

5.8 GHz (5.725 – 5.875 GHz),

24.125 GHz (24.00 – 24.25 GHz),

122.5 GHz (122 – 123 GHz), and

245 GHz (244 – 246 GHz),

are designated for industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) purposes. These frequencies may also be allocated to Short Range Device (SRD) services. Amateur licensees operating on amateur allocations within these frequency ranges must accept interference from ISM and SRD services.

  1. Allocated to the amateur service on a temporary basis until further notice.

  2. Telecommand and telemetry operation only.

  3. Radiated power must not exceed 5 watts e.i.r.p.

  4. Radiated power must not exceed 25 watts e.i.r.p.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect).

This notice prescribes that, pursuant to Regulations made under the Radiocommunications Act 1989, a general user radio licence is granted for the transmission of radio waves by foreign radio amateur operators visiting New Zealand, for the purpose of communications in the amateur radio service, in accordance with the terms, conditions and restrictions of this notice. This notice comes into force on 8 July 2004.

Notice of Appointment of a Limited Statutory Manager for the Board of Trustees of Melville High School (137)

Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I direct the Secretary for Education to appoint a limited statutory manager for the Melville High School (137) Board of Trustees because of risks to the operation of the school.

The following functions, powers and duties of the board are vested in the limited statutory manager:

● Employment powers of the board.

This notice takes effect the day after the date of publication.

Te Kura O Waikare Establishment

Pursuant to sections 146 and 156 of the Education Act 1989, I hereby give the following notice.

Notice

  1. This notice may be cited as Te Kura o Waikare establishment.

  2. The notice shall come into force on the day after its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

  3. I hereby establish in Waikare, a primary school called Te Kura o Waikare and designate the school as a designated character school.

Aims, Purposes and Objectives of Te Kura O Waikare

  1. The following aims, purposes and objectives constitute the character of Te Kura Toitu o Waikare:

● Te Reo Māori o Te Kapotai will be the principal language of this school (i.e. of instruction, of communication), and at the same time the board will acknowledge the importance of other languages, which will also be taught;

● To integrate positive Māori values and principles into every aspect of school activities, raising the academic achievement, self-esteem, self-confidence, pride and mana of our tamariki;

● To produce tamariki who become high achievers, who are able to make wise choices about their future and can contribute to whanau and hapu;

● To seek and provide effective and sufficient opportunities to learn Te Reo and Tikanga o Te Kapotai from the marae and rōpu kaumatua/kuia;

● To encourage parents and wider whanau to play an active role in the life of the school and be committed to its aims;

● The school will reflect a holistic learning environment acknowledging the physical, educational, social, cultural and spiritual components of the individual to promote and enhance their overall health and well-being; and

● Whilst the school’s character is Te Reo and Tikanga o Te Kapotai, the school is open to all students who embrace these aims, purposes and objectives.

Constitution of the Board of Trustees

  1. The Board of Trustees of Te Kura o Waikare shall comprise:

(a) five people appointed by the Minister;

(b) the principal, or principal designate; and
