Veterinarians Act 1994
Notice of Recognition of Specified Universities by the Veterinary Council of New Zealand
Pursuant to section 12 of the Veterinarians Act 1994, the Veterinary Council of New Zealand gives the following notice.
Notice
The veterinary council declares that the following university degree in veterinary science conferred by such university shall be recognised for the purposes of section 9 of the Veterinarians Act:
- The Faculty of Veterinary Science, University College Dublin, National University of Ireland, degree of Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (M.V.B.) (those graduating in 2004 and onwards).
As of 1 July 2004, those graduating in 2004 and onwards from the aforementioned institution will be eligible for registration without further examination in New Zealand.
The change will not affect the registration of graduates of the aforementioned institutions who are already registered with the Veterinary Council of New Zealand.
Those who have graduated from the aforementioned institution prior to 2004 and are not already registered with the Veterinary Council of New Zealand are not eligible for registration without further examination in New Zealand.

Appointments to the Residual Health Management Unit
Pursuant to section 59 (1) and Clause 7, Schedule 6 of the New Zealand Public Health and Disability Act 2000, I appoint
Ross Murray Tanner
as member and chair of the board of the Residual Health Management Unit.
This appointment commences on 1 July 2004 and ends on 30 June 2007.
Pursuant to section 59 (1) of the New Zealand Public Health and Disability Act 2000, I appoint
Ian Sliper
Dame Ann Hercus
as members of the board of the Residual Health Management Unit.
These appointments commence on 1 July 2004 and end on 30 June 2007.
