Civil Aviation Rules

In accordance with section 34 (1) (a) of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, the Associate Minister of Transport hereby gives notice of his intention to make ordinary rules in the following Civil Aviation Rule Parts:

Parts 139—Aerodromes – Certification, Operation and Use, 121, 125 and 135 – Air Operations Large, Medium and Small Aeroplanes, and 129 Foreign Air Transport Operator – Certification – new rules to implement the ICAO Annex 14 requirements for runway end safety areas (RESA) or give a similar level of safety where there are regular air transport services operating internationally, or there are proposals to develop runways.

Part 1—Definitions and Abbreviations – add new definitions and abbreviations related to RESA.

Submissions on the proposed rules should be forwarded to the Docket Clerk by 16 August 2004.

Summary of Exemptions Granted by the Director of Civil Aviation

In accordance with section 37 (3) of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, notification is hereby given that the Director of Civil Aviation has granted the following exemptions from the Civil Aviation Rule requirements:

4/EXE/15:
135.355 – seating and restraint requirements.

4/EXE/66:
121.303 (b) – goods, passenger and baggage weights.

4/EXE/75, 4/EXE/76, 4/EXE/77 and 4/EXE/78:
61.35 (a) (1) – requirement to hold a current medical certificate issued under the Act.

4/EXE/79, 4/EXE/80, 4/EXE/81 and 4/EXE/82:
61.153 (a) (2) – requirement to hold a current medical certificate issued under the Act.

4/EXE/83:
61.105 (2) – requirement to hold a current medical certificate issued under the Act.

The notice of the grant, withdrawal or denial of exemptions with provisos is published in the Civil Aviation Rules Register Information Leaflet (CARRIL).

For the provisos, refer to CARRIL dated 1 July 2004.

Amendment to a Notice for Disposal of Stewardship Area

Pursuant to section 50A of the Conservation Act 1987, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation,

the Community Relations Manager for the Southland Conservancy of the Department of Conservation hereby amends an error in the notice concerning the disposal of stewardship land dated the 3rd day of June 2004 and published in the New Zealand Gazette, 10 June 2004, No. 68, page 1627, by omitting from the notice

"0.946 hectares" and "0.750 hectares"
