Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988

Termination of Dumping Investigation: Galvanised Wire from the People’s Republic of China

Notice is hereby given that, acting pursuant to section 11 of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988 (hereinafter referred to as “the Act”), I have terminated a dumping investigation in respect of galvanised wire from the People’s Republic of China (the “subject goods”).

The subject goods are described in the Notice of Initiation of Dumping Investigation dated the 31st day of October 2003 (New Zealand Gazette, 6 November 2003, No. 150, page 4201) as “Galvanised steel wire of high, medium and low tensile strength between (and including) 2mm and 4.5mm in diameter” imported or intended to be imported into New Zealand.

I have terminated the investigation in respect of the subject goods from the People’s Republic of China because I am satisfied that under section 11 (1) (a) of the Act, there is insufficient evidence of dumping to justify proceeding with the investigation.

Dated at Wellington this 29th day of March 2004.

MARGARET WILSON, Minister of Commerce.
