TARIFF CONCESSION APPROVALS, WITHDRAWALS AND DECLINES NOTICE (NO. 12) 2004

I, Vincent Anthony Manks, Executive Officer, Ministry of Economic Development, acting pursuant to section 8 of the Tariff Act 1988 under delegated authority hereby:

(a) In accordance with Part II of the Tariff approve in respect of the entry of goods listed in the First Schedule to this notice the rates of duty or exemptions from duty specified in that Schedule with effect from the first day of the month so specified; and

(b) In accordance with Part II of the Tariff approve in respect of the entry of goods listed in the Second Schedule to this notice the exemptions from duty specified in that Schedule with effect from the first day of the month so specified subject however to such purposes and conditions which I prescribe

(c) Withdraw with effect fourteen days from the date of this Gazette, or otherwise at the date so specified, the approvals granted in respect of the entry of goods listed in the Third Schedule to this notice.

cutting at 90o, round bar capacity up to 260mm diameter

cutting at 90o, flat bar up to 430mm wide x 260mm high

cutting at 45o, round bar capacity up to 260mm diameter

cutting at 45o, flat bar up to 280mm wide x 260mm high

(2) Box and plan folders, hand operated

(3) Buffing and contact grinding machines, not exceeding 304.8mm wheel diameter and 508mm belt width

(4) Chain saw sharpeners

(5) Drill presses, bench or floor mounting column type, belt driven, excluding types with power feed to drilling quill

(6) Drill presses, wall mounting, radial type not exceeding 22.22 capacity in mild steel.

(7) Dualfoam hydraulic press with facility to cast its own tools, models 5E, 6, 7, 8 and 9

(8) Machinery, (other than numerically controlled machine tools), peculiar for use in making and repairing exhaust systems and other products made from metal tubing, not exceeding the following capacity;

swaging, 19mm-76mm

expanding, 25mm-76mm;

bending, 19mm-76mm;

forming bends of 60mm-140mm radii

(9) Metal circular saws hand operated with high speed steel blades not exceeding 250mm

(10) Metalworking guillotines and shears, excluding the following:

762mm power operated guillotines especially suited for use in the photo-processing and engraving trade for cutting zinc, magnesium and copper sheets reinforced steel bar cropping machines, with capacity exceeding 20mm types with a straight cutting edge of 105mm or less

(11) Metal hacksaws, (other than automatically controlled hacksaws), with a rated square material cutting capacity of which any one measurement is 280mm or less

(12) Press brakes (including coil cradle straighteners)

(13) Presses, hydraulic

(14) Presses, mechanical, power operated and other, not exceeding 35 tonnes capacity

(15) Punch, crop and rivet presses, not exceeding 3.05 tonnes capacity

(16) Rod reinforcing steel cutters, not exceeding 20mm mild steel capacity

(17) Roll forming machines, including continuous spouting and continuous ridging machines

(18) Shearing, punching and notching machines, hand and hydraulically operated

(19) Sheet metal folding machines

(20) Sheet metal rollers, hand operated, not exceeding 1220mm x 76.2mm x 1.6mm capacity

(21) Swaging and crimping machines

(22) Metal cutting bandsaws in vertical positions with a maximum cutting throat depth up to 450mm

N.B. Any multi-purpose or composite machines incorporating any of the functions above are excluded from this concession
