Pursuant to section 122 of the Medical Practitioners Act 1995, I reappoint

to the Medical Council of New Zealand as a medical practitioner member under section 124 (d).

The term of office of this appointment is until 17 August 2006, commencing from the date of this notification.

Medical Practitioner Who May Prescribe, Administer or Supply Controlled Drugs for the Purpose of Treating People With Drug Dependence

is a medical practitioner who may prescribe, administer or supply controlled drugs for the purposes of that section, with the following conditions:

Pursuant to section 24 (7) (a) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975, I, David George Chaplow, acting under delegated authority from the Minister of Health, specify that:

(a) Dr Jacques Renard Marchand’s prescribing of controlled drugs for the treatment of opioid dependence is limited to methadone;
