Conservation Act 1987
Controlled Dog Areas and Open Dog Areas for Northland Conservancy
Pursuant to Section 26ZS of the Conservation Act 1987 and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, Chris Jenkins, Conservator Northland, Department of Conservation, declares that the areas of land described in the First, Second, Third and Fourth Schedules to this notice and identified on maps held in the Whangarei, Kerikeri, Kaitaia and Waipoua offices of the Department of Conservation are managed and administered by the Department of Conservation under The Reserves Act 1977, The Waitangi Endowment Act 1932-1933, and The Conservation Act 1987 and further declares that:
Controlled Dog Areas: No Access
The areas of land described in the First Schedule to this notice known by names listed therein are controlled dog areas: no access.
Controlled Dog Areas: Entry by Permit for Management and/or Recreational Hunting Subject to Conditions
The areas of land described in the Second Schedule to this notice known by the names listed therein are controlled dog areas: Entry by permit for management and/or recreational hunting subject to conditions, as follows:
(a) the number of hunting dogs is limited to three per hunter.
(b) farm dogs must at all times be under the supervision of their owner or other responsible person.
Open Dog Areas: Lead Subject to Conditions
The areas of land described in Third Schedule to this notice known by the names listed therein are open dog areas: Lead subject to conditions, as follows:
(a) all dogs shall be kept on a lead not exceeding three linear metres.
(b) faeces to be removed.
Open Dog Areas: Free Subject to Condition
The areas of land described in the Fourth Schedule to this notice known by the names listed therein are open dog areas: Free subject to the condition that at all times dogs must be under control by voice command.
