Pursuant to the Marriage Act 1955, the Registrar-General of Marriages, hereby gives notice as follows:

1. This notice may be cited as the Marriage (Approval of Exempt Religious Body) Notice No. 1.

2. The Registrar-General approves The Church at Gloriavale as an exempt religious body pursuant to section 32c of the Marriage Act 1955.

This exemption shall come into effect from the 16th day of December 2004.

District Courts Act 1947

Acting District Court Judges Appointed

Pursuant to section 10A of the District Courts Act 1947, Her Excellency the Governor-General of New Zealand has been pleased to appoint

Michael Frederick Hobbs, retired District Court Judge

to be an Acting District Court Judge, to exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction in New Zealand, and to exercise the criminal jurisdiction of the District Courts under Part IIA of the District Courts Act 1947, at such place or places and for such period or periods only as the Chief District Court Judge may fix, pursuant to the said section 10A of the District Courts Act 1947, for a term of one year on and from 6 December 2004; and

Edward William Unwin, retired District Court Judge

to be an Acting District Court Judge, to exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction in New Zealand, at such place or places and for such period or periods only as the Chief District Court Judge may fix, pursuant to the said section 10A of the District Courts Act 1947, for a term of two years on and from 18 December 2004; and

Simon Grant Lockhart, Q.C., retired District Court Judge

to be an Acting District Court Judge, to exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction in New Zealand, and to exercise the criminal jurisdiction of the District Courts under Part IIA of the District Courts Act 1947, at such place or places and for such period or periods only as the Chief District Court Judge may fix, pursuant to the said section 10A of the District Courts Act 1947, for a term of two years on and from 1 January 2005.\n

Acting Community Magistrate Appointed

Pursuant to section 11H of the District Courts Act 1947, Her Excellency the Governor-General of New Zealand has been pleased to appoint

Garry Oversen Moltzen, Community Magistrate of Hamilton (to retire on 1 February 2005)

to be an Acting Community Magistrate, to carry out such functions and powers as are conferred on Community Magistrates, in such Courts at such times as the Chief District Court Judge may from time to time direct, under section 11C of the District Courts Act 1947, for a term of 24 months on and from 2 February 2005.
