Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975
Integrated Primary and Secondary Schools in the Catholic Dioceses of Palmerston North, Dunedin and Hamilton and the Archdiocese of Wellington (Attendance Dues) Notice 2004
Pursuant to section 36 (2) of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, the Minister of Education on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen, acting through the Senior Manager, National Operations, Ministry of Education, pursuant to delegated authority, hereby gives notice approving the charging of attendance dues at the schools in the Catholic Dioceses of Palmerston North, Dunedin and Hamilton and the Archdiocese of Wellington.

This notice shall be cited as the Integrated Primary and Secondary Schools in the Catholic Dioceses of Palmerston North, Dunedin and Hamilton and the Archdiocese of Wellington (Attendance Dues) Notice 2004.

The proprietors of the integrated schools referred to above may enter into an agreement with the parents or other persons accepting responsibility for the education of a child at the aforesaid schools by requiring them to pay attendance dues.

The attendance dues payable in respect of the integrated schools owned by the proprietor in each of the above-named dioceses and archdiocese shall be a maximum of $335.00 (exclusive of G.S.T.) per annum per student from Year 1 to Year 8 and a maximum of $671.00 (exclusive of G.S.T.) per annum per student from Year 9 to Year 13, effective from 1 January 2005.

Attendance dues received by the proprietors shall be used for the purpose of applying for such improvements to, or for such capital works associated with, the buildings and associated facilities of the integrated schools included in this notice as may be required or approved by the Minister of Education, pursuant to section 40 (2) of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, or for meeting debts, mortgages, liens or other charges associated with any of the land and buildings that constitute the integrated schools.

Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999
Fisheries (Declaration of Mātaitai Reserve and Appointment of Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki) Notice 2004 (No. F310)
Pursuant to Regulations 20, 21 and 22 of the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999, the Minister of Fisheries hereby gives the following notice.
Notice
- Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Fisheries (Declaration of Mātaitai Reserve and Appointment of Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki) Notice 2004.
(2) This notice shall come into effect on the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.
- Interpretation—In this notice:
(a) "mātaitai reserve" means the identified traditional fishing ground described in clause 3 of this notice.
(b) "Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki" means any person or persons appointed as Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for the mātaitai reserve under Regulation 21 of the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999.
(c) "excluded areas" means:
(i) the areas comprising 1075.1 hectares shown by "A", "B" and "C" on the registered Survey Plan SO 337996 (attached to this notice) and declared to be a marine reserve under the Marine Reserve (Ulva Island—Te Wharawhara) Order 2004; and
(ii) those waters of Big Glory Bay generally southward of a line from the point west of Sailors Rest (46°58.09'S 168°08.42'E), then generally in a north-westerly direction to the north-eastern point of Bravo Island (46°57.42'S 168°08.45'E), then following the mean high water spring line in a westerly direction along the shore of Bravo Island to a point (46°57.35'S 168°08.13'E), then generally west across the sand spit to the nearest land at (46°57.42'S 168°08.45'E).
- Declaration of a mātaitai reserve—The Minister of Fisheries hereby declares a mātaitai reserve at Te Whaka a Te Wera (Paterson Inlet), Stewart Island.
The mātaitai reserve encompasses all the coastal waters of Paterson Inlet, Stewart Island, lying to the south-west of a straight line drawn from Ackers Point (46°53.74'S 168°09.86'E) to Bullers Point (46°55.21'S 168°11.65'E), but does not include the excluded areas.

Appointment of Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki—Phillip John Smith, Maureen Winifried Okeroa Jones, Richard Graham Squires and Peter Godword Goomes are hereby appointed as Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for the above mātaitai reserve.

Commercial fishing prohibited area—Commercial fishing within the above mātaitai reserve is hereby prohibited under Regulation 24 of the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999.

Power to authorise taking of fisheries resources for customary food gathering—The Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki may authorise any individual to take fisheries resources managed under the Fisheries Act 1983 and 1996 for customary food gathering purposes from within the whole or any part of the mātaitai reserve. No customary fishing may take place in the mātaitai reserve without authorisation from the Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki.
