Energy Efficiency (Amendments to Incorporated Material) Notice 2004

Pursuant to the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act 2000, the Minister of Energy gives the following notice.

Notice

  1. Under section 37 (4) of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act 2000, I give notice that the following amendment to the following standard, which is listed in Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 of the Energy Efficiency (Energy Using Products) Regulations 2002, is part of the Regulations:

Amendment A to AS/NZS 3823.2:2003 Performance of electrical appliances – Airconditioners and heat pumps – Energy labelling and minimum energy performance standard (MEPS) requirements.

  1. This amendment takes effect as part of the Regulations on 1 October 2004.

Explanatory Note

The Energy Efficiency (Energy Using Products) Regulations 2002 ("the Regulations") incorporate by reference certain standards. A standard incorporated by reference that relates to air conditioners has been amended. This notice specifies the date upon which the amendment to the standard takes effect as part of the Regulations.

Notice of Approval of Code of Practice

Pursuant to section 79 (5) of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996 (HSNO), the Environmental Risk Management Authority (ERMA) advises that it has approved a Code of Practice for Management of Agrichemicals, being NZS 8409:2004.

This standard has been approved as a code to provide a means of compliance with the regulatory requirements of the following HSNO Hazardous Substances Regulations:

  • Hazardous Substances (Classes 6, 8 and 9 Controls) Regulations;
  • Hazardous Substances (Classes 1 to 5 Controls) Regulations;
  • Hazardous Substances (Disposal) Regulations; and
  • Hazardous Substances (Emergency Management) Regulations.

This code can be inspected at the Wellington office of ERMA New Zealand, Level One, BP House, 20 Customhouse Quay, Wellington, or will be able to be purchased from Standards New Zealand, Private Bag 2439, Wellington, or web site:

Environmental Risk Management Authority

Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996

Notice of Approval of Code of Practice

Pursuant to section 79 (5) of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996 (HSNO), the Environmental Risk Management Authority (ERMA) advises that it has approved a Code of Practice for Signage for Premises Storing Hazardous Substances and Dangerous Goods.

This code is intended to provide a means of compliance with the regulatory requirements of the HSNO Hazardous Substances Regulations for signage at sites and premises containing hazardous substances.

These requirements are principally contained in Part 3 of the Hazardous Substances (Identification) Regulations 2001 and Regulation 42 of the Hazardous Substances (Emergency Management) Regulations 2001.

Pursuant to section 14 (5) of the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977, the National Rural Fire Authority hereby makes the following notice.

  1. (1) This notice is the Department of Conservation Wanganui Conservancy Fire Safety Margin Removal Notice 2004.

(2) This notice will come into force on 1 October 2004.
