Explanatory Note

This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This notice:

  • increases the total allowable commercial catch for bluenose in the quota management area BNS2 (Central (East)) to 1,048 tonnes;
  • increases the total allowable commercial catch for elephant fish in the quota management area ELE5 (Southland and Sub-Antarctic) to 120 tonnes;
  • increases the total allowable commercial catch for ghost shark in the quota management area GSP1 (Auckland (East), Central (East), South-East (Coast), South-East (Chatham Rise) and Kermadec) to 1,150 tonnes;
  • increases the total allowable commercial catch for ghost shark in the quota management area GSP5 (Southland and Sub Antarctic) to 454 tonnes;
  • decreases the total allowable commercial catch for hake in the quota management area HAK4 (South-East (Chatham Rise)) to 1,800 tonnes;
  • decreases the total allowable commercial catch for hoki in the quota management area HOK1 (Auckland (East), Auckland (West), Central (East), Central (Egmont), Challenger/Central (Plateau), South-East (Coast), South-East (Chatham Rise), Southland and Sub-Antarctic combined) to 120,000 tonnes;
  • increases the total allowable commercial catch for john dory in the quota management area JDO7 (Challenger/Central (Plateau)) to 114 tonnes;
  • increases the total allowable commercial catch for ling in the quota management area LIN5 (Southland) to 3,595 tonnes;
  • increases the total allowable commercial catch for ling in the quota management area LIN6 (Sub-Antarctic) to 8,505 tonnes;
  • increases the total allowable commercial catch for orange roughy in the quota management area ORH2A (Central (Gisborne)) to 1,100 tonnes;
  • increases the total allowable commercial catch for orange roughy in the quota management area ORH2B (Central (Wairarapa)) to 185 tonnes;
  • increases the total allowable commercial catch for orange roughy in the quota management area ORH3A (Central/Challenger/South-East (Cook Strait/Kaikoura) combined) to 415 tonnes;
  • increases the total allowable commercial catch for rig in the quota management area SPO2 (Central (East)) to 86 tonnes;
  • increases the total allowable commercial catch for school shark in the quota management area SCH3 (South-East (Coast)) to 387 tonnes;
  • increases the total allowable commercial catch for school shark in the quota management area SCH5 (Southland and Sub-Antarctic) to 743 tonnes;
  • increases the total allowable commercial catch for school shark in the quota management area SCH7 (Challenger/Central (Plateau)) to 641 tonnes;
  • increases the total allowable commercial catch for school shark in the quota management area SCH8 (Central (Egmont)) to 529 tonnes;
